Professional Bull Riders: History and Competition
Founded in 1992 by 20 professional bull riders, including Ty Murray and Tuff Hedeman, Professional Bull Riders (PBR) has grown into an international organization with events across several countries. Its competitions pair elite riders with athletic bulls, with scores reflecting both the rider's technique and the bull's performance. The organization's history includes champions such as seven-time titleholder Ty Murray and two-time champions Justin McBride and J.B. Mauney.
The February 6 stop is part of the Pendleton Whisky Velocity Tour. PBR events commonly build through multiple rounds toward a championship final, with arena staging designed around the dirt competition floor and bull-riding chutes. Large video boards and replay footage help spectators follow the action, while opening ceremonies and entertainment between rounds add to the event atmosphere. The supplied event listing identifies February 6 as the San Diego date; it does not specify opening acts or a complete performance schedule.
San Diego's indoor arena setting makes this a convenient way to experience a major rodeo-style competition in the city. Western attire such as boots, jeans, and cowboy hats is a popular choice, and PBR events are described as suitable for all ages.
